Imperial Yellow Porcelain Vase

Imperial Yellow Porcelain Vase with intricate design. This piece is normally placed in the imperial temple. It is believed to be made during the Qing dynasty [1644-1911] for the Qianlong emperor [1735-1796].The two rings on the bottom indicates that it is indeed an imperial piece. The painting on Imperial porcelain can be so perfect it looks like a modern decal, except there is depth to the vivid color and glaze on the antique ones, often the best Chinese artists were used. Imperial porcelain is often very glassy looking and very smooth to the touch and any handles or finials should look finely carved or painted.
